Art Attic III

15 Fifteen-Minute Programs
Grade(s): Primary (3)

Curriculum: Art

Objectives:

  1. To discuss the principles of design/organization (harmony, variety, movement, space, and balance) to produce order and the element of art.
  2. To encourage/motivate students to create their own items of art based on the information/ideas presented in the programs.
  3. To introduce students to the common principles of organization and basic elements that the visual arts use to arouse the senses and intellect.

Description:

This series is a continuation of our art series for elementary grades and is designed to provide a basis for art instruction for those elementary teachers with responsibility to teach art but with little or no training in art instruction. The programs combine studio and on-location sequences to teach basic art concepts as well as providing how-to instruction for many student art activities. As in other ART ATTIC programs, emphasis is placed on projects that use materials readily available to teachers and students.
