15 Fifteen-Minute Programs

Objective:

  1. To introduce students to the common principles of organization and basic elements that the visual arts use to arouse the senses and the intellect.
  2. To encourage students to look and see, think about, mentally imagine, and produce pieces of art.
  3. To discuss the elements of art (line, color, texture, shape, and value).
  4. To discuss the principles of design/organization (harmony, variety, movement, space, and balance) to produce order and the elements of art.

ART ATTIC V concludes our art education series. The series now contains programs for grades I - 5. This series takes place in the instructors "art attic" (studio) and is complemented with on-location segments featuring guest artists, museums, and various other interesting locations as appropriate. The programs emphasize "hands on" art with materials that are readily available at home or in school. Art concepts are introduced and explained during the "how to" segments.
