Curriculum Area: Foreign Language/French

Objectives:

1. To teach basic oral skills in French.
2. To develop cultural awareness pertaining to French customs.

Because BONJOUR was designed to be used by teachers with little or no knowledge of French, it was determined that a FLEX (Foreign Language Experience) program would be most appropriate where emphasis is placed on oral skills as children are taught basic words and phrases. Another goal is to develop cultural awareness through the use of on-location segments, vignettes, and the activities suggested in the teacher guide.

Teacher Guide:
The teacher guide is extensive and lists goals, new vocabulary, vocabulary for review, cultural concepts, and classroom activities for each lesson. There are many student worksheets in the guide to be duplicated and given to the students for post-viewing activity.

The programs are not individually titled.
