Each program in this series introduces us to the delightful and inquisitive Willie and his special ventriloquist friend, Peggy. From the introduction at Willie's very own camping ground, the audience is asked to join them on their adventures.

  1. A Visit to the Fire Station 14:00
    Is a camp fire good or bad? Willie and Peggy learn about good fires and bad fires when they are invited to take a tour of the fire station where they meet Fire Fighter Bill. Bill makes Willie a junior fire marshall and helps him to understand that everyone can help to fight fires by knowing and practicing good fire safety habits. Willie learns about some of the equipment that is used to fight fires. His tour ends when the fire department responds to a real emergency call.

  2. A Visit to the Hospital 14:15
    Did you know that Willie had his tonsils out? Willie invites viewers to share the day that Peggy took him to the hospital in anticipation of his operation. Willie is apprehensive until he meets Nurse Marie. She helps Willie learn that a hospital is a place to get well, that everyone is responsible for their good health and that the people who work throughout the hospital are there to help.

  3. The Bike Shop with Police Officer Cliff 14:09
    Willie loves to ride his bike. Viewers see the day that Peggy took Willie shopping for his very own bike. Scott helps Willie to understand that his equipment is important for good bike safety. Police Officer Cliff talks with Willie about good traffic safety rules. Willie learns about the responsibilities of a police officer and even gets to see Officer Cliff's police car.

  4. The Emergency Squad 13:27
    Willie has a friend whom he calls Dan, the Rescue Man. Dan helps people in his spare time as a member of his community's rescue squad. Willie shares the day he had a tour of the rescue squad van. Dan explains to Willie how he and his friends train to assist people during an emergency. He helps Willie to understand that all activities can relate to health and safety. Willie even gets to be a rescue squad member.

  5. A Visit to the Dentist 13:22
    It's Willie first trip to his new dentist. He meets Kathy, the dental hygienist, who shows Willie all the equipment that the dentist uses to help him take good care of his teeth. She helps explain some of the reasons for good dental hygiene. Willie's visit ends with Kathy suggesting good dental health habits that will help him prepare for future visits.

  6. The School Bus Company 12:50
    Where does the bus go when it is not taking students to and from school? Viewers get an answer when Willie and Peggy show them their visit to the bus garage where they meet Willie's bus driver, Ann. She shows Willie her bus and talks to him about the responsibilities of a bus driver and about bus safety rules and equipment. Willie realizes more than ever the importance of being a responsible, safe bus rider.
