| Fables and Folktales 15 Fifteen Minute Programs

Curriculum Area: Language Arts
Objectives:
- To introduce the concept of "fable" and their
"stories/morals".
- To motivate students to want to read other fables and
folktales by other authors or different fables' by the same author.
- To motivate students to "read for fun".
A hostess in either a "living-room or fantasy"
set is used to introduce the animated fables. The hostess provides the explanation to the
fable and serves as the link between the two fables featured in each program. The cartoon
style fables compose approximately 10 minutes of each program-and "tell" the
fable. The hostess discusses the moral of the fable and presents background information
and topics -for discussion.
