Objective:

• To aid teachers in introducing and integrating the study and writing of poetry into the primary school curriculum.

The series was designed primarily as an aid to teachers to help them introduce poetry into the curriculum (an in-service course) but also was produced to be used with children in the classroom. The children will see examples that the teacher can refer to when he/ she is conducting the exercises in the classroom.

The series was designed to give the child the experience of play, where intellectual and the physical meet and enhance each other. The children see a direct connection between experience and language: experience as creating a background for language, and language giving a form to experience.
