3 Ten Minute Programs

Specially created from the three-hour television series, the educational modules provide an interesting multidisciplinary blend of the above curricula. The series increases our consciousness of current environmental challenges and opportunities for change. Each program illustrates new technology applications and demonstrates everyday techniques we can use in our conservation efforts.

Programs:

1. The Home
   The Home is a community clean-up story. It shows how easy it is to dramatically reduce garbage by "smart shopping," recycling and composting. These simple actions significai~tly reduce air pollution levels and save thousands of dollars in waste removal.

2. The Car
   The Car that gets us to work and school has long presented a disposal problem. Ingenious new methods use old car materials to produce today's models creating a "cradle to cradle life cycle." Encouraged by cheaper materials, auto makers now "design for disassembly" to facilitate

3. Wetlands Technology
   Wetlands Technology demonstrates how to clean polluted water more economically and efficiently. Two new approaches to treating polluted water and sewage are contained ecosystems which perform certain treatment tasks and constructed wetlands that use artificial marsh pools and vegetation.
