SOUNDS ABOUND! Is a series of thirty-two fifteen-minute phonics programs designed to correlate with most basal reading systems. Each program introduces and reinforces initial consonant or vowel sounds using a multi-sensory procedure. The programs are moderately paced with concrete games spaced throughout. Children are encouraged to become active participants in each lesson during many movement and critical-creative thinking activities. And there's more! After the introduction of the letter name and sound, children are asked to imitate the correct handwriting model presented. Finally, interesting' original stories reinforce the letter of the day and are followed by a Cloze exercise to stimulate reflective thinking about the story.
