America's first female president is coming to Washington. Her name is Alexandria. She is an eighth grader. She doesn't know she is going to be President. She only knows that if she were president, she would make things happen. Well, after an amazing accident knocks Alex and her friend, Ravi, off of their bicycles, they find themselves transported to the entrance of the White House - and Alex learns she has been made president. But - now what do they do? Neither knows anything about government. As they work their way out of this situation, they visit various people and offices to learn how laws are made, enforced, interpreted, and what activities take place in various departments of the government at the local, regional, state, and federal levels.
